This course deals with concepts, principles in the application of the major phrases of the nursing research process. It introduces the beginning role of the nurse as a nurse researcher. The learners are expected to develop a technically and ethically sound research proposal.

This course is a continuation of Nursing research 1 which includes collection of data, analysis, interpretation, summary and conclusion and recommendation. Advising is  done throughout the practicum sessions. The course will provide the student/group an opportunity to undergo the final research defense process to appreciate data gathering, analyze and interpret study results disseminate the findings and make recommendations based on the results of their respective studies.

This course deals with concepts, principles, theories and techniques of nursing care management of at risk and sick adult clients in any setting with alterations/ problems in  oxygenation, fluid and electrolytes, infectious, inflammatory and immunologic response, cellular aberrations, acute and chronic. The learners are expected to provide nursing care to at risk and sick adult clients utilizing the nursing process.

It deals with the principles and techniques of nursing care management of sick clients across the lifespan with emphasis on the adult and older person with alteration/problems in cellular aberration, acute biologic crisis, including emergency and disaster nursing and IV Therapy.

This course deals with the study of food in relation to health and illness. It covers nutrients and other substances and their action, interaction and balance in relation to health and diseases and the process by which the human body to ingest, digest, absorbs, transports, utilizes and excrete, food substances. It also focuses on the therapeutic and food service aspects and delivery of the nutritional services in the hospitals and other healthcare institutions. The learners are expected to develop the competencies in appropriate meal planning and education of a given client.

It deals with the concepts, principles and techniques of nursing care management of older persons.

This course deals with concepts, principles, theories and techniques in the care of population groups and communities utilizing community organizing strategies toward health promotion, disease prevention, restoration and maintenance, and rehabilitation and community development. The learners are expected to provide safe, appropriate and holistic nursing care to clients utilizing the community health nursing process.

This course deals with concepts, principles, theories and techniques in the provision of basic care in terms of health promotion, disease prevention, restoration and maintenance and rehabilitation at the individual and family level. It includes the study of the Philippine Health care Delivery System, national health situation and global context of public health. The learners are expected to provide safe, appropriate and holistic nursing care to individual and family as clients in community settings utilizing the nursing process

The students are expected to demonstrate safe, effective and appropriate nursing care to a healthy mother and child in varied settings.



PARENT CHILD NURSING

This course focuses on the care of population, ­­­­­nursing interventions/strategies for the prevention and/or management of behavioral problems of children arising from parent-child relationships.

It involves discussion of issues and concerns in varied health care situations. The learners are expected to apply sound ethics decision-making in varied health scenarios.



This course deals with pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, and clinical /therapeutic uses of drugs in health promotion, disease prevention, restoration and maintenance, and rehabilitation of clients across the lifespan utilizing the nursing process.


This course explores the philosophies, theories and history of the science of nursing. Nursing theory and other theories are applied to practice using evidence-based innovations with focus on global setting. Nursing theories and other theories are evaluated and analyzed for their usefulness and applicability to nursing practice, education, and administration.

This course deals with the concepts, principles, theories, and methods of developing nursing leaders and managers in the hospital and community-based settings that includes ethico-moral/legal aspects of health care and nursing practice and the nurses’ responsibilities for personal and professional growth.
